The Game

Visionwake is a surreal computer game with has an otherworldly story that is rooted in real life with a startling and disruptive message.

It is mind-bending and fun with mystical beasts from ferocious crystalline angels to tormented titanic demons; from creative weaving spiders
 to rationalist delving crabs; from provocative antagonists to spiritual mentors and from beings who know and others who seek to learn.

The player journeys through different worlds that have actors borrowed from different times, places, cultures and beliefs. 

Drawing together opposing forces, conflicting ideals and contradictory practices, the game looks to reconcile difficult conflicts and realise the rich potential of the players imagination.

The game mirrors the complexity of life by providing multi-layered challenges, while offering alternative lenses to reality drawn form a wide pantheon of spiritual and philosophical traditions. 

By opening minds and tackling difficult life choices, its purpose is to awaken and liberate the player from established limits, unquestioned norms and narrow beliefs – making life more rewarding. 

To accomplish this, the game is founded on six pillars. It must:

  1. Embrace paradox [by giving no easy answers and reflecting the difficult choices in life]
  1. Never pander [by respecting the player’s ability to respond to the game in their own special way]
  1. Be digitally ergonomic [by balancing the visual and auditory stimulus]
  1. Be deeply immersive [by enthralling the player in the plot, artwork and soundscape]
  1. Be Un-escapist [everything links to the player’s life providing a voyage of self discovery
  1. Stop the world [by reaching out, arrests the players normal sense of reality and creates space to contemplate]
